Hot, hot, hot! But oh, so delicious. Harissa spice mix is consumed in its native Tunisia as an accompaniment to many dishes like couscous and grilled meats. Harissa is a versatile chilli blend that can be used in many ways. This spicy seasoning can be stirred into soups and stews, mixed with plain yoghurt to marinate chicken or as a dip, combine with diced tomatoes to spoon onto kebabs and wraps or use as a dry rub.
To make a harissa paste, combine 2 tbsp of spice with 2 tbsp of boiling water. Steep for 5 min, then stir through 3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil. For rose harissa, add 2 tsp of Rose Petal Powder at the start.
Ingredients: Coriander, red bell peppers, salt, cumin, Kashmiri chilli, cayenne pepper, seedless chilli, hot chilli, garlic, caraway, mint.
